Introduction

Brinjal farming This article will discuss the benefits of consuming brinjal, a vegetable commonly referred to as eggplant or eggplant, with a brief overview of the production process. In India, brinjal is cultivated on 3.2 lakh hectares, with a total production of about 5.0 million tonnes. It is rich in fiber, low in calories and provides a range of nutrients. The anthocyanins in brinjal may protect the health of the heart, and Nansen may help improve blood flow to the brain. Following the benefits of consumption, the blog will discuss how to prepare brinjal.

Climate Requirein Brinjal Farming

Extreme weather is not required for the cultivation of brinjal. The soil temperature should be 25 degrees Celsius so that the seeds can grow well and 13 to 21 degrees Celsius. Average temperature is best for good growth of plants. The temperature should not be below 18 degrees Celsius.

Land Selection

The brinjal plant is a large leafy plant. It can grow up to a height of 1.8 meters and is a perennial plant. It is a fruit-bearing plant and is a member of the Solanaceae family. Furthermore, it tolerates a variety of soil conditions. In brinjal farming process, the plant has short roots and is drought resistant.

It is suitable for areas with long and hot weather. The brinjal plant needs a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius to grow. The brinjal plant is a plant that does not require much water to grow. It is a plant that can grow in areas with a lot of soil. The plant is suited for regions with long dry spells.

Farm Preparation

Preparation for organic brinjal farming is a great deal of work. In order to prevent the loss of production, it is vital that the farmer starts work as early as possible. Organic brinjal farmers should start their preparations by preparing the soil for sowing.

The first sloughing should be done with a soil turning plow, after that 3 to 4 times by using harrow or country plow and then before the first sloughing of the land, dung manure should be scattered evenly. If cow dung manure is not available, first green manure should be used in the field.

Seedlings

The main concern when growing brinjal is the weather conditions. Therefore, it is important to know the best planting distance for your seedlings. Brinjal grows in a wide variety of conditions, and is most comfortable and healthy when planted in acidic soil. It is best to plant your seedlings in pots or a nursery tray. The distance between the two should be between 75x75 cm. Irrigate the crop frequently as per the requirement.

Seed Quantity

Organic brinjal farming requires 400 to 500 grams of seed per hectare, and 250 to 300 grams of seed per hectare of hybrid varieties ready to plant seedlings.

Brinjal Varieties

There are two types of brinjal varieties, the watery variety that can be harvested in a few days and the dry variety that can be harvested in a few weeks. Farmers should use the prevailing variety of their area and at the same time, the varieties should be selected on the basis of market demand and popularity.

Long fruits - Pusa Purple Long, Pusa Purple Cluster, Pusa  Kranti brinjal Pant Samrat, Azad Kranti, S-16, Punjab Evergreen, ARU 2-C and H-7 etc. are prominent.

Round fruit- USA Purple Round, H-4, P-8, Pusa  Anmol,  Pant Ritu Raj, T-3, H-8, DBSR- 31, PB- 91-2, K-202-9, Db  R-8 and A B-1 etc. are dominant. Small round fruits – DBSR – 44 and PLR – 1 are prominent.

Brinjal hybrid varieties – Arka-Navneet and Pusa Hybrid – 6 are  prominent. Long fruits - ARBH-201 stand out. Round fruits – ND B H-1, A B H-1, MHB-10, MHB-39, AB-2  and Pusa Hybrid-2 etc. are prominent.

Popular Varieties

like Pant Samrat, Pant Rituraj, KS224 and Samrat-giant and hybrids like Pusa-hybrid 5 are popular Among farmers.

Brinjal fertilizer Dose

First sloughing should be done with a soil turning plow. At this  time, spread 200 to 250 quintets of cow dung or compost in  the field and plow it. Before the final sloughing, mix 50 kg  nitrogen, 80 kg phosphorus and 60 kg potash at the rate of  60 kg per hectare in the field by sloughing it evenly, and make  beds or drains. In hybrid varieties, give 60 to 70 kg nitrogen  at the time of last sloughing and keep the amount of  phosphorus and potash as before.

Time of sowing

Brinjal crop can be taken 3 time in a year, so that brinjal is available throughout the year. Which is as follows-

Rainy season crop - The time of nursery preparation is  February to March and the time of transplanting in the main field  is from March to April.

Autumn Crop-Nursery preparation time is from June to July, and planting time in a large area is from July to August.

Spring time-The time of nursery preparation is December  and the time of transplanting in the main field is from  December to January.

Brinjal spacing in cm

When the plants are 10 to 15 cm tall or 30 to 40 days old in kindergarten, carefully remove them and plant them in a prepared garden in the evening. Keep the distance from the line to 70 cm from 60 to 70 cm and then the line to plant a distance of 60 cm.

Irrigation

Irrigation is a process of providing water to the soil or plants. It is typically done to increase the amount of water that can be absorbed by plants, to maintain soil moisture, to control weeds and to prevent soil erosion. Irrigation is used in all forms of agriculture, landscaping, and industrial applications. Irrigation is also necessary for the brinjal cultivation of crops in arid regions. It is typically controlled by either natural rainfall or by pumping water from an external source or through a drainage system.

In dry regions, irrigation is critical to plant growth and productivity. Irrigation should be done at an interval of 4 to 5 days in summer and 10 to 15 days in winter season. Irrigation should be done in the rainy season as required.

Brinjal Yield Per Acre in India

If cultivated with the above method, about 250 to 350  quintets of yield per hectare is obtained from the brinjal cultivation. But if cultivated with the seeds of hybrid varieties,  yields from 350 to 500 quintets per hectare can be obtained.

Brinjal  Crop Duration

For a brinjal producer to get the fruits ready for harvesting, the plants need to be allowed to mature. Seeds are sown in the spring and the fruits are ready for first picking in about 120-130 days of seed sowing depending on the variety.
